Amirah Rimal, DNP, APRN, FNP-C, ENP-C a Trinidad native and local Sugar Land resident is proud to be leading The Park at Sugar Creek Medical Center.
While working for Baylor Scott and White Healthcare and the United States Department of Veterans Affairs in Dallas, Texas, Dr. Rimal attended school at Texas Women’s University. It was there that she graduated Magna Cum Laude, holding a double bachelor’s degree with a focus on Sociology, Psychology and Nursing.
Dr. Rimal’s love for medical missionary work was her motivation to return to school to receive her Master’s in Nursing. While attending Ida V. Moffett School of Nursing at Samford University, Dr. Rimal continued her medical training at multiple hospitals in the Houston Area. With the bulk of her training done at Kingwood Medical Center Pediatric ER and Memorial Hermann Southwest ER, Dr. Rimal became a highly skilled, dual-certified Family and Emergency Nurse Practitioner.
Additionally, in (2020), Dr. Rimal defended her thesis “A New Clinical Algorithm to Improve Outcomes in Patients with Diabetes”, thus receiving her Doctor of Nursing.
In 2017, Dr. Amirah Rimal was recognized as the recipient of the Frances Mann Award for Ethics and Leadership for her dedication to the victims of Hurricane Harvey. Dr. Rimal has spent countless hours dedicating her spare time to medical missionary trips. Currently, she is an active participant involved in projects in Honduras, which work to increase access to childhood education and sanitation in remote villages.
Dr. Rimal is a loving wife and mother. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, cooking and watching movies. Dr. Rimal believes education never ends and is always searching for alternative therapies for her patients. Her approach is towards living a more holistic lifestyle and using regenerative medicine. Dr. Rimal’s life is based on the Gandhi belief that the best way to find oneself and is to lose oneself in the service of others. With this belief system, Dr. Rimal, has committed to always going above and beyond for her patients and their health.
